Slim PS3 news: 10 of the best: Movie scenes in Yoostar 2 In the Movies

Relive these classic movie scenes featured in Yoostar 2 In the Movies on PlayStation 3.

When Yoostar 2 In the Movies arrives on PS3 in March 2011 you’ll be able to re-enact some of the most memorable TV and movie moments ever. With a huge roster of classic scenes from films such as The Matrix, Shaun of the Dead and The Terminator, Yoostar 2 In the Movies is fun for film fans, family and all your friends. Check out our favourite scenes from some of the movies featured in the game. Lights, camera, action!

The Terminator (1984): “I’ll be back” Arnold Schwarzenegger’s career catchphrase was first uttered in the 1984 science fiction thriller, The Terminator, to an unsuspecting police officer at the front desk of a police station. Moments later, the unstoppable cyborg from the future launched a devastating attack on the station in search of Sarah Connor. Well, he did say he would be back.

300 (2006): “This is Sparta!” This classic scene is taken from Zack Snyder and Frank Miller’s 300, as King Leonidas and his army of Spartans battle the one million strong army of Persian King Xerxes. This scene unfolds when a messenger arrives at the gates of Sparta demanding King Leonidas and his people bow to Xerxes. Leonidas refuses and kicks the messenger into the Pit of Death before screaming the immortal line – “This is Sparta!”

Superman Returns (2006): “Don’t be alarmed, it’s absolutely normal”Unfortunately it’s not, at least not in this movie, Superman Returns. Intrepid reporter, Lois Lane is about to be shot into orbit on a plane attached to a space shuttle. Luckily for Lois, Superman decides to make this the moment he reveals his return to Earth, after a five-year hiatus in search of Kryptonian life. The Man of Steel intercepts the plane and lowers it to safety on a Metropolis baseball field. Phew.

The Blues Brothers (1980): “It’s 106 miles to Chicago…”"…we got a full tank of gas” says Elwood Blues to his brother Jake in John Landis’ smash hit comedy musical, The Blues Brothers. “Hit it”, responds Jake, before the duo take off into the night with assembled forces of law and order and a crazed ex-girlfriend hot on their heels as they try to save their old orphanage from demolition.

Kindergarten Cop (1990): “It’s not a tumour!” He’s back, and this time he’s an undercover police officer posing as a teacher in Kindergarten Cop. Yes, it’s time for another classic Arnie moment. In this scene Schwarzenegger has to deal with the absurdly morbid Lowell, a little boy obsessed with the darker side of life who makes the automatic assumption Schwarzenegger’s headache is a tumour. Guess what? “It’s not a tumour!”

Frankenstein (1931): “It’s alive!” It’s arguably one of the greatest terror tales ever told and James Whale’s 1931 monster classic, Frankenstein, is chock-full of stunning scenes. In Yoostar 2 In the Movies you’ll get the chance to act out the moment the monster awakens on Doctor Frankenstein’s operating table and the doctor screams the classic line: “Look! It’s moving. It’s alive. It’s alive… it’s alive, it’s moving, it’s alive, it’s alive, it’s alive, it’s alive, IT’S ALIVE!”

The Karate Kid (1984): “Wax on, wax off”Every movie fan remembers 1984′s The Karate Kid, so it’s no surprise that the uplifting tale about Mr Miyagi teaching Daniel Larusso that there is more to martial arts than fighting has found its way into Yoostar 2 In the Movies. Now you can star in the moment where Daniel learns his first lesson from Miyagi – waxing on and waxing off.

The Wizard of Oz (1939): “You’re going to see a wizard?” It’s the moment Dorothy meets The Scarecrow in Victor Fleming’s 1939 magical epic, The Wizard of Oz, and you can be in it too. All you need is a copy of Yoostar 2 In the Movies, a pair of red shoes and a PlayStation Eye camera. Just watch out for The Wicked Witch of the West. The red shoes are, of course, optional.

Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987): “Resistance is futile” Fans of Star Trek: The Next Generation are going to get a kick out of this clip. Included in the game is a scene from Season 3 of the series that starred the acclaimed British actor, Sir Patrick Stewart, as Captain Jean-Luc Picard. In it, you perform as a Borg version of Picard in the episode The Best of Both Worlds.

Slap Shot (1977): “The finer points of hockey” You’ll need a hockey stick to pull off this scene from the 1977 film, Slap Shot, or at least something that resembles one. In it, Denis Lemieux demonstrates – in hilarious fashion -the finer points of illegal moves on the ice to TV presenter, Jim Carr. Be sure to take care if you’re acting this one out with a friend when waving that stick about.

Experience these classic scenes and many more in Yoostar 2 In the Movies on PlayStation 3 in March 2011. You can also download some of these great movies and more from the PlayStation Store Video Store today.
