It’s been a long time since the chirps of Peppy’s “barrel roll” and Falco’s stern disapproval came blaring out of our speakers, but it seems the heat is rising for a new Star Fox title.
The so-so Star Fox Command on the Nintendo DS marked the last time we saw McCloud and the team back in 2006. Namco’s Star Fox Assault was a thoroughly forgettable experience on the GameCube, and Rare’s entry was never really a Star Fox game in the first place. So you’ve got to go all the way back to 1997’s Star Fox 64 for the last truly great game in the series.
It’s been a long time.
Thankfully it seems Platinum Games Hideki Kamiya could be coming to the rescue. Andriasang brings word of his latest Twitter updates, in which he claims:
“I want Nintendo’s staff to come to Platinum, stick guns at us and tell us ‘You guys make a new Star Fox.’”
Further details suggest Hideki-san pitched two Starfox concepts while under the employment of Capcom. One turned out to become Okami. The other – a 3D shooter – failed to offer anything beyond Star Fox 64, so he presumably put that one on the shelf pretty quietly.
Are you listening Shigeru Miyamoto? Hideki Kamiya wants a Star Fox as well and so do we.

Last night on GameTrailers TV, Platinum Games and Sega revealed their fourth and final scheduled collaboration – Vanquish. The debut trailer was comprised entirely of live action and CG, with no in-game footage or even a specifc platform announced.
We can derive a few more specifics on the title, though, by going back to that leaked Sega document found earlier this year. Slim-PS3.com is updated frequently each day with the very latest Free Slim PS3 news and reviews.

Time to pop out the bubble and steal a kiss from folks way out of your league.
Regardless of whether it’s you, a bottle of Dom, and a killer club or you, a bottle of Pink, and DJ Hero the time has come to say goodnight to the first decade of the new millennium (yeah, that did happen fast, didn’t it?).
I hope it was a good one for ya, and that your list of resolutions includes something other than “Earn 10 Platinum PS3 Trophies.” On the top of my list? “Finish top ten PS3 games of 2009 Article”… so be on the lookout for that very, very soon!
Cheers to you, my fellow PlayStationites. May 2010 be full of great times, good health, and superb games.
