Halo 3 Playlists to be “Downsized” to Make Way for Halo: Reach – Console news

With Halo set to Reach out to new places this fall, Bungie would still keep the burgeoning multiplayer of Halo 3 alive, right? Well, sort of. The developer has announced in its daily update that, in order to prepare for the release of Halo: Reach several Halo 3 playlists will be “downsized and concatenated”.

This process has already begun, as the official Major League Gaming Free-For-All playlist (MLG FFA, for short) has been removed from the game. Bungie states that these playlists will continue to be “combined, modified, or removed” and in the end several will be deleted from the game. These merged playlists will also become DLC required (with the exception of Social Slayer and Lone Wolves), and no new playlists will be added to the game.

Is Bungie merely clearing the way for their next multiplayer fragfest? Or are they cutting off the hand that feeds them too quickly? Slim-PS3.com is updated several times per day with the very latest Free Slim PS3 news, reviews and features.
